The Centre for Social Markets (CSM) is an independent, non-profit organisation that works to create more environmentally and culturally sustainable societies. CSM assists transformation – social, economic, political and institutional – for the public interest by by harnessing the potential of small-scale entrepreneurs and producers.
Founded in 2000, CSM is a values-based organisation committed to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. We have a zero-tolerance approach to corruption and discrimination, and ask the same of our partners and colleagues.
What we do
CSM conducts research and training; promotes debate and dialogue; builds coalitions and leadership platforms; and produces resources in three major programme areas:
Climate Change – to advance a thoughtful response to climate change in India at the administrative and social levels where it matters most
Sustainability – Our role is as catalyst and guide on key sustainability challenges and to ensure that India’s economic progress is shaped by sustainable development considerations
Responsible Business – to encourage particularly small and medium enterprises towards a swadeshi outlook in order to contribute to wider civic and national goals
CSM provides advisory services in the fields we work in. This includes bespoke research, training and world-class event facilitation services. CSM’s senior staff are also available for lectures and presentations. If you would like to discuss any of our advisory services, or would like to book a speaker or facilitator, kindly contact Ms Viva Kermani < viva [at] csmworld [dot] org >
